Allow myself to introduce....myself

I was blog stalking earlier today.

I've recently been really enjoying fashion blogs.

Loving new ideas and combos for classic pieces.

But as I search and blog stalk I've realized something.

I look at all these girls dressed up in fields all adorable and posey.

And I think I could never be that cute.

I could never be confident enough to pull that off.

And I start to feel sad and I start to think rude things about myself.

I start to feel negative and rotten.

And that's not how it should be.

I am a gem

Especially on the inside, and I dont think I deserve to be talked to that way.

So one of my GOALS in 2011 is to love myself and I'm thinking maybe women everywhere should do the same.

We are beautiful and have lots to offer out there.

I see you lady.

You are reading my post right now.

And you are;

You are, simply put

So start acting like it, cause I'm going to.

**post edit: fun fact about this picture. That is my cousin Taylor waving my cell phone in the desert at night while Corey is taking his 'night pictures'. There was originally a shot of her making an 'I' too. That picture was lost in the great delete with all of the other ones. It was supposed to be 'I love you' and it was supposed to be for her missionary in Argentina. However, when I put the pic together tonight this message popped out at me and screamed something I've been needing to hear for a long time.

  1. you are beautiful ♥ i'm happy this is something you are going to focus on for 2011. it takes a lot to learn to love took me forever, but once you will feel all kinds of amazing and your self confidence will thank you for it big time!

good luck on your adventure to loving you. xoxo

  2. I totally know how you feel! I love looking at fashion blogs but sometimes I just get really hard on myself. I started a fashion blog because i love clothes and I love taking pictures. I then realized how silly I felt. Now I hardly put "outfit" pics up and I've started focusing on things that make me happy to be me. Thanks for posting this. You are a gem!

  3. Great post. I have decided that none of my new years resolutions will have anything to do with looks or my body. Everything is going to be focused on me improving myself in education, spirituality and/or personal skills. The only resolution that will relate to my physical appearance is to give myself three compliments a day and work on eliminating negative thoughts. :)

You are such a beautiful girl. You are hilarious, fun to be around and have ADORABLE style. And I wish to have a photography talent and eye like you. Thanks for a great post. We can all use the pep talk. LOVE YOU!!! :)

  4. i loved this post. something i need to focus on as well! and that cell phone picture is amazing! how do people do cool things like that! sheesh.

  5. This post is such a refreshing one! It is such a great reminder that we are all daughters of God with divine nature. I am so happy that you realized that you are feeling this way because it's so hard to make changes or adjustments if you don't realize you are being negative. I think you are beautiful, smart, funny, creative, loving, witty, compassionate, forgiving, and on, and on, and on. I love you!

  6. Oh I am so going to spank you the next time I see you!!! YOU are so beautiful. Shockingly beautiful, just like all of your cousins and sister. You also have the quality to be a style setter. No more fat talk ever girl. Fat talk is not just about weight; it's about putting ourselves down. So no more! Or I spank. **kisses** Deb

  7. oh my, this post made me smile - on the outside and on the inside :)

  8. i totally get what you're saying in this post. i feel the same way oftentimes as well. hence my new years resolutions to improve myself to show myself that i am awesome, even though i would look like a retard if i posed in a field.

  9. This is a lovely post~ I couldn't agree more.

  10. oh my gosh i LOVE light painting photography!!!! <3 so fun!! and there are so many cool things you can do with it!

  11. Someone once told me that self confidence comes from accomplishment. When I think of all the things you've accomplished with all your amazing talents I am simply speechless. You have to look for the small things. Like when I copy and pasted this into an email just to make sure I didn't misspell anything. A window popped up and said "You have perfect spelling." I thought, damn right I do. THAT'S an accomplishment. And it makes me feel good.

    :) Love you.
